Update: Buc-ee's eligibility hearing set for 5/29/2025 at the Palmer Lake Town Hall. Mark your calendars!
The Town Clerk of Palmer Lake has officially approved the recall petitions. Now, we need 275 valid signatures per petition by May 23, 2025 — and your voice matters.

Why We Must Recall These Trustees
This is not about a single bad decision — it’s about a pattern of failure that threatens Palmer Lake’s future:
-
Illegal Annexation for Buc-ee's:
A symptom of deeper leadership failures, risking our water supply, roads, and community integrity for short-term, misleading promises of revenue. -
Ignoring Citizen Petitions and Destroying Economic Potential:
Over 300 signatures to preserve historic cabins at Elephant Rock were disregarded — the cabins were destroyed, along with their tourism potential. -
Disregarding the Palmer Lake Master Plan:
A citizen-driven vision for our town was never adopted into code or followed, showing open contempt for the community's will. -
Trashing the Elephant Rock Master Plan:
After citizens devoted months to create a detailed, thoughtful plan, the Mayor and Trustees dismissed it with a sneer — ignoring research, financial planning, and community effort. -
Violating Citizens' Rights:
Citizens were forced outside into freezing darkness during a public meeting while out-of-town supporters were allowed inside — a blatant violation of First Amendment and Sunshine Laws. -
Overdevelopment Threatening Our Water and Dark Skies:
Reckless approval of massive developments like 199 houses under Ben Lomand Mountain without regard for water limits, environmental impact, or town character. -
Allowing Concealed Weapons at Trustee Meetings:
Passed an ordinance permitting concealed carry at meetings — escalating fear and division instead of fostering open dialogue. -
Exploding the Town Budget While Claiming Poverty:
Passed the largest budget in town history and gave the Town Manager a huge raise — all while claiming Palmer Lake was "broke" and desperately needed Buc-ee’s minimal projected revenue. -
Endangering Our Water Supply:
Planned costly new wells and expanded services for Buc-ee's, setting Palmer Lake on a path to higher water rates and faster groundwater depletion. -
Trying to Silence Citizens and Families:
Attempted to limit the free speech of trustees' spouses — a shocking attack on basic First Amendment rights. -
Broken Campaign Promises and Group-Think:
Trustees once promised to be the "Voice of the People," but now vote in lockstep for private interests, abandoning those they were elected to serve. -
Risking Expensive Lawsuits Through False Claims:
Trustee Ball’s refuted public statements about Buc-ee’s expose the town to the threat of costly federal litigation — yet she refuses to correct them.

The Pattern Is Clear
This is more than just a petition — it’s a movement to restore integrity, accountability, and respect in our local government. Palmer Lake deserves leadership that upholds the Rule of Law, respects basic codes of conduct, and treats residents with dignity and decency. This compilation of 66 complaints filed with the Attorney General will be updated to add recent blocking by Ms. Ball which prevented Integrity Matters from responding to false statements as well as other citizens. In the meantime, it provides ample evidence of the egregious and unlawful behaviors.

Integrity Champs are stepping up to protect the values our community holds dear. If you believe in transparency, responsibility, and ethical leadership, we need your signature to help bring about change.

Additionally, several posts have been made, especially by Ms. Shana Ball, that are factually false, libeling Integrity Matters and our President, Dana Duggan. Here are the facts. This bullying and intimidation, violation of constitutional rights and the rule of law must stop. Palmer Lake citizens deserve better. Here's the Cease and Desist letter sent to Ms. Ball. Here's a compilation of AG complaints which is growing. Please do file a complaint with the AG for any experiences you have had and send us a copy. We will add it to the list. You can file here and send a copy of your complaint to: integritymatterscos@gmail.com (Be sure to copy it into a word/Google doc so you have a copy of what you filed as it doesn't send you a copy.)

Recall Petitions by Trustee listed below.
Did you know that it's estimated to take 860,000 gallons of water/month to, primarily, flush toilets for the proposed Buc-ee's - FOR TRAVELERS, not even Palmer Lake residents? That water is coming from depleting groundwater aquifers.
