Campaign Finance

Note:  Next campaign finance filing is 3/28 which only covers thru 3/23.  Any Developer or Dark Money spent in the last 9 days will go un-detected by voters. Check back for updates.  In fact, candidates Brandy Williams, Parth Melpakam and Lee Lemkuhl, in this cycle, did not report their Housing & Building Assocation donations when the other 4 candidates did.  They were awarded by February 27th.  What does developer-related mean?  We include real estate, corporate infrastructure partners, and any contract-related entities.  The reason is in the 2023 election, we were informed that developers tell their contractors to put signs up for their candidates and "encourage" they support them.  In that election, over $1 million in developer + Dark Money donations were made to secure 4 Councilmember seats. The PPAR is a lobbying PAC just like the HBA and are often on the same team.  Developers hire realtors to sell their inventory.  Additionally, the YIMBY movement that pushes the overbuilding is backed by the National Association of Realtors and asset managers like Blackrock.  Lastly, former PPAR board members are part of the CSURA board (that approves taxpayer funded URAs for development.  This seems highly relevant.

Integrity Matters Survey Answers

4 attempts were made to remind Mr. Bailey to respond.  He not only did not answer the survey, he never replied to emails or phone calls.

Integrity Matters President Dana Duggan did speak with Mr. Bailey asking about his MINORITY vote in the EPC Planning Commission to pass Hay Creek Valley development, a dangerous development on a dead-end road that violated EPC code of a 25 home limit based on the science of evacuation modeling.  He was proud of that vote and development, in general.  He is also supportive of the amphitheater.

KOAA reports he is a "Fire Pit" owner at the Amphitheater and asked if he would recuse on that issue that is still unresolved. His reponse was that he would ask the city attorney which means no recusal as we have filed NUMEROUS ethics complaints about these direct conflicts of interest, and they are all dismissed by the City.  We need to fix that corrupt system.

We also were informed he spent hours convincing Frank Chrisinger not to run with help from a prominent pastor.  D2 voters are already calling for a Recall once the grace period is over.
