2026 County Commissioner Candidate Surveys

All candidates were sent multiple emails and the same questions for each District.  We provide links to any additional forums where we are able to find them.  If you are aware of a forum that was publicly shared, please let us know, and we will gladly include them.  Voters should be armed with all publicly available information to make informed decisions.

Developer / Special-Interest Donations is the portion of those contributions we identify as coming from development, real-estate, land-use, construction, or other organized special-interest sources. We classify a contribution in this category when any one of the following applies:

  • The contributor is an individual whose disclosed occupation or employer is a developer, builder, real-estate, land-use, or construction firm, or another special-interest organization. Colorado law requires candidates to report the occupation and employer of any individual contributing $100 or more, and we rely on that publicly disclosed information.

  • The contributor is a business entity (such as an LLC) engaged in development, real estate, land use, construction, or a related industry. Under Colorado law, such contributions are attributed to the entity's members.

  • The contributor is a political committee, small donor committee, or similar organization associated with development, real-estate, or land-use interests.

Because Colorado law prohibits county candidates from accepting contributions directly from corporations or labor unions, the amounts shown reflect contributions from individuals, business entities such as LLCs, and committees — not direct corporate gifts.

Contributions under $100 are not required to disclose the contributor's employer or occupation and therefore cannot be classified; they are included in Total Donations but not in the special-interest subtotal. The percentage shown is therefore a conservative figure based only on what candidates have publicly disclosed.

These classifications reflect Integrity Matters' good-faith review of public records. We link to the underlying TRACER records so voters can verify every figure for themselves. If you believe any figure or classification is in error, email integritymatterscos@gmail.com and we will promptly review and correct it where appropriate.

While County Commissioner races are partisan, we do not identify parties as we are a nonpartisan nonprofit organization; we strongly believe that endorsements and party affiliations do not matter.  Integrity is the single most critical factor which determines good versus bad leadership.  Elections should be about ideas not ideology, and the best ideas that serve the people is what should be featured.
